Letter from the Archdiocese of Miami - Department of Schools
Please know that you and your families are in our prayers during this COVID-19 crisis. This crisis has challenged the way we educate your children.
The teachers and other staff in the schools of Archdiocese of Miami are working hard to keep the children engaged in learning, albeit in a very different way. We are providing different types of educational activities and online platforms to actively engage students in learning. Students will continue to be graded for assignments. Attendance is taken every day. All students will complete the curriculum of their current grade level.
Since teachers are still teaching, tuition will continue to be collected. However, we do understand that some families may be significantly impacted financially by COVID-19. ln order to address possible financial difficulties, the schools will utilize F ACTS to determine qualifications for financial assistance to parents in both our parochial schools as well as our Archdiocesan High Schools.
lf your child is a current recipient of a state scholarship: Step Up, AAA, VPK, FES, McKay or Gardiner, please know that the 4th quarter reimbursement will be sent to the school. Please check your email from the scholarship program and follow the directives.
As we navigate this "new normal", we need to work together to ensure that your children and families are safe and healthy as we all remain committed to assuring a quality Catholic education of all our children.
Again, be assured that you and your families are in our prayers daily. May the Lord keep us all safe in the palms of His loving hands.
Kim Pryzbylski, Ph.D.
